3 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert
Cross the High Atlas, walk through Aït Ben Haddou's kasbah, descend the Dades Valley and sleep two nights under the stars at Erg Chebbi.
Three imperial cities and the Atlantic coast — the cultured way to travel from Fes to Casablanca.
Our 2-day tour from Fes to Casablanca turns a long transfer into a tour of Morocco's imperial heartland and Atlantic capital. Instead of three hours of motorway, you travel privately via the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the monumental imperial city of Meknes, and the elegant capital Rabat, before reaching Casablanca and its landmark Hassan II Mosque rising over the ocean.
It's the ideal way to connect Fes with Casablanca's airport or port while actually seeing the country in between — and it gathers three of Morocco's four imperial cities (Fes, Meknes, Rabat) plus the Roman past into a single, well-paced journey. The tour is fully private and tailor-made, led by a native driver-guide, with no deposit until your itinerary is approved.
Private local Berber & Arab guides who know every kasbah, dune and shortcut.

We leave Fes mid-morning for the short drive to Meknes, the grand 17th-century capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail, where we see the monumental Bab Mansour gate, the immense royal granaries and stables, and the long ramparts. Nearby Volubilis follows — the best-preserved Roman city in Morocco, its triumphal arch, basilica and intricate floor mosaics standing in open countryside. After lunch we drive west to the Atlantic and the capital, Rabat, arriving in the late afternoon. Calmer and greener than other Moroccan cities, Rabat rewards an evening stroll: the picturesque blue-and-white Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth, the soaring Hassan Tower and the royal mausoleum, and a relaxed waterfront. Overnight in Rabat. (approx. 3–4 hrs driving, with stops)
After breakfast and any last Rabat sights, we take the coastal road south to Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and economic capital — about an hour and a half away. The highlight is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, built partly over the Atlantic with a 210-metre minaret; it's one of the few mosques in Morocco non-Muslims may enter, and guided visits inside can be arranged around the prayer schedule. With time, your guide can also show you the Art Deco downtown, the Corniche seafront and the colonial-era architecture that gives Casablanca its distinctive character. The tour ends at your Casablanca hotel, the port, or Mohammed V Airport, timed around your onward travel. (approx. 1.5 hrs driving, plus sightseeing)
You sleep in hand-picked riads and boutique hotels, plus a comfortable Sahara camp with private en-suite tents, real beds and a Berber dinner under the stars. Choose standard, superior or luxury and we match it.
Travel in a private, air-conditioned 4x4 or modern minivan with your own English-speaking driver-guide. No shared coaches and no waiting — you set the pace and stop wherever you like for photos.
Choose your comfort level — Comfort, Superior or Luxury — and we hand-pick every riad, kasbah hotel and desert camp to match. Exact properties are confirmed on your personalised itinerary.
| Night | Area | Where you stay | Board |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rabat | Boutique riad or hotel | Bed & breakfast |
Your overnight is in Rabat, the relaxed Atlantic capital, in a comfortable hotel chosen for location and a warm welcome — convenient for an evening by the kasbah and the waterfront. Dinner is included, with breakfast before the short final drive to Casablanca.
As always the standard is yours to set, from comfortable mid-range to boutique or luxury, and you approve the accommodation before paying a deposit. If you'd rather overnight in Casablanca instead of Rabat, we can easily reshape the route.
What makes this tour special is how much history it gathers into a simple A-to-B journey. Morocco has four imperial cities — Marrakech, Fes, Meknes and Rabat — and this route links three of them in two days, adding the Roman ruins of Volubilis for good measure. Few transfers anywhere offer so much.
It's perfect for travellers who need to reach Casablanca's airport or port from Fes but don't want to waste the day on a motorway. Tell us your flight or ferry time and we'll pace the two days so you arrive relaxed and on schedule, having genuinely seen the country in between.
